Working together for a low carbon future
A new partnership has been formed in the Solent region – the first major decarbonisation initiative aiming to substantially reduce CO2 emissions from industry, transport and households across the Solent and Southern England.
The Solent Cluster is a cross-sector collaboration of international organisations, including manufacturers and engineering companies, regional businesses and industries, leading logistics and infrastructure operators and academic institutions, with decades of expertise in carbon capture and storage and hydrogen technology.
Anthony Bennett, COO of Ecomar Propulsion welcomes the formation of the cluster, “Ecomar Propulsion is on a mission to remove 10 million tonnes of CO2 greenhouse gasses from the marine environment within 10 years, and fully supports the Solent Cluster Charter. This partnership is the first of its kind to span the public, private and higher education sectors, and is a monumental step forward for the region. It reinforces our message to shipyard owners and fleet operators that now is the time to switch to zero emission propulsion systems.”
