Research Team Leaders - Post Grad Marine Biologist or BioChemist

You must be at least MSc qualified.

Leading a cutting edge research project with some overseas activity.

The role requires experience and understanding of marine and organic biological / chemical processes.

We are looking for applicants with a particular interest in heavy metal pollutants – preferably with a knowledge of Ascidians or blood chemistry and their concomitant pollution impacts in the marine environment.

You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including engineers, chemists and others.  This is an opportunity to combine cutting edge research with environmental activism. You will be expected to work independently on a specific research area but will have ample opportunity to drive the projects according to the results.

We are looking for a team player that understands the significance of global impacts and the need to make new discoveries. Initial investigations will be conducted with Post Doc and Professor level colleagues with a deep interest in high internal phase emulsions, polymers and processes related to extraction of minerals from aqueous solutions.

You will also be working extensively with the engineering team and a world leading research institute on developing ground breaking engineering technologies that deliver clean and renewable resources without impacting the natural world.

We don’t work to a clock but we do expect you to be available between 8.30 – 4.40 5 days a week. and you will be required to locate within easy range of Portsmouth or Southampton.


You will not be micromanaged and you will have direct access to key decision makers. The first project is semi-autonomous so we expect you to manage your own agenda and to bring a bit of fun and new thinking into the company.

The position requires a person with a passion for investigation combined with the ability to work with a wide ranging team of intellectual and practical experts in their field.
