Full Time Position - Senior Control Systems & HMI Software Programmer

We are a designer and manufacturer of revolutionary new clean electric propulsion systems, looking to appoint a Senior Control Systems and HMI Software Programmer, with an interest in clean energy.
You will be at the cutting edge of the green revolution helping to bring electric and hydrogen power into a wider market. The role provides ample opportunity to make a real difference and we expect all our staff to use their experience to improve themselves and our products at every stage of the design and development process.
On offer is an immediate, initial contract of 12 months with the option to transfer to a permanent role for the right candidate. The salary range is competitive.
The successful candidate will be office based for the term of the contract as we need full team engagement to react rapidly to fast changing prototype developments.
Once integrated into the team, some part time home working may be available. We work out of our rapidly expanding Solent based HQ so overseas or distant applicants should be prepared to immediately relocate to Hampshire for the role.

The key skills and qualities of a Senior Control Systems and HMI Software Programmer are:
High level of proficiency in:
Experience with Canbus, Modbus TCP/ IP, Automotive ECU’s would be preferred.
An understanding of switching and control systems and the ability to adapt to operational reality.
Practical problem-solving capabilities with the ability to integrate analogue control systems into digital formats.

It is essential that you are fluent in English and are able to communicate your ideas both visually and verbally.
You will be working closely with our Directors, external academic partners and other engineering staff so it is important to be a team player. You will need to inspire the team with your occasional brilliance and deliver elegant, simple solutions to difficult problems. You will also need to understand the impact of design on production and how that impacts on customer relationships.
Marine experience is not essential but certainly helps.
